Profile Wood Hydro Mulch with Guar Tack, 50 lb Bale
Profile ProductsProfile Wood Hydro Mulch with Guar Tack, 50 lb Bale
Formerly branded as Conwed 2000, Profile's Wood Hydro Mulch is a fully biodegradable, Hydraulic Mulch (HM) composed of 100% recycled Thermally Refined™ wood fibers and wetting agents (including high-viscosity colloidal polysaccharides). The HM is phytosanitized, free from plastic netting, and upon application forms an intimate bond with the soil surface to create a porous, absorbent and flexible erosion resistant blanket that allows for rapid germination and accelerated plant growth.
Profile Wood Hydro Mulch with Guar Tack Recommended Applications:
- Erosion control and revegetation for moderate slopes (≤2H:1V)
- Rough graded slopes
- Enhancement of vegetation establishment
Additional benefits of Profile Wood Hydro Mulch with Guar Tack:
- Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack® Thermally Refined® wood fibers utilize heat and pressure to break wood down into more fibrous material with greater surface area. This results in greater yield, higher water retention and increased productivity, which lowers project costs
- Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack has a premium organic polysaccharide tackifier that is pre-blended within the wood fiber, which ensures enhanced coverage
- Eliminates the extra step and mess of field mixing
- Polysaccharide tackifier enhances the chemical bond within the mulch matrix for better erosion control
- Disperses quickly in water, which allows for better blending with seed and fertilizer
- Ideal protection for critical slopes and sites where weather calls for an extra measure of protection
- Thermally Refined wood fibers holds up to 50% more water than competitors products – creating an excellent environment for seed germination
- Non-toxic and environmentally safe
- Maximum slope length of 30 feet (9 m)
- Use approved mechanically agitated equipment for optimum pumping and application performance
- Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack functional longevity is ≤ 3 months
Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack was a pioneer in the development of wood-fiber based hydraulic mulch in 1965. Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack set the industry standards for performance then, and nearly a half century later, Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack products are still delivering superior performance with unrivaled consistency.
Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack’ products are ideal choices for critical sites with up to 2:1 slopes. Contractors report that Profile Wood Hydromulch with Tack' Thermally Refined® fiber delivers up to 30% more yield than competitive products, which means more money in their pockets.
- 100% wood fiber just like Profile Wood Hydromulch without Tack® (formerly branded as Conwed 1000) but with a premium tackifier included.
- Tackifier is a pre-blended high-viscosity, organic polysaccharide tackifier for superior erosion control performance.
- Eliminate the extra step and mess of field mixing.
- Reduces soil loss and enhances germination.
- Holds 13.5 times its own weight in water for superior seedling establishment.
- Meets or exceeds all requirements for wood fiber mulch.
- Available in 50-lb bags.

* When uniformly applied at a rate of 3000 pounds per acre (3400 kilograms/hectare) under laboratory conditions. 1. Cover Factor is calculated as soil loss ratio of treated surface versus an untreated control surface. 2. Large scale testing conducted at Utah Water Research Laboratory. For specific testing information please contact a Profile technical servicerepresentative at 800-508-8681 or +1-847-215-3464. 3. % Effectiveness = One minus Cover Factor multiplied by 100%. 4. Functional Longevity is the estimated time period, based upon ASTM D5338 testing and field observations, that a material can be anticipated to provide erosion control and agronomic benefits as influenced by composition, as well as site-specific conditions, including; but not limited to – temperature, moisture, light conditions, soils, biological activity, vegetative establishment and other environmental factors. 5. Heated within a pressurized vessel to a temperature greater than 380 degrees Fahrenheit (193 degrees Celsius) for 5 minutes at a pressure greater than 50 psi (345 kPa) in order to be Thermally Refined™/Processed and to achieve phyto-sanitization.
